Where can I find hair extensions near me in London?
5 min read
Quick answer
Extensions are not a one-off, so proximity matters more than it does for a haircut. Budget roughly six to nine visits a year for refits. As a rule, if the round trip is under an hour you will keep the schedule comfortably; beyond that, book longer-wear methods and stack appointments.
I've found a salon I like the look of but it's a fair way from me. Does it actually matter how near extensions are?
More than people expect. A haircut is one trip. Extensions are a standing commitment because the fitting is only the first appointment. Tapes need refitting every six to eight weeks, nano and micro rings every eight to ten. That is six to nine trips a year, every year, for as long as you wear them.
So what distance is realistic?
Our honest rule of thumb is the round trip. Under an hour and clients keep the schedule without thinking about it. Over about ninety minutes each way and we start seeing refits pushed back which is when hair actually gets damaged, because overdue rings and tapes matt and pull. The distance itself does not harm your hair. The missed refit does.
What if the salon I want is further than that?
Then plan around it rather than ruling it out. Ask for a longer-wear method so you need fewer visits. Keratin bonds run three to four months rather than six to eight weeks. Book the refit at the fitting so you are never chasing a slot. And stack services so one trip covers a refit plus a cut or colour instead of two separate journeys.
How long would it take me from Chiswick to you?
About ten minutes by car over Chiswick Bridge, or two stops on the train from Chiswick station to Mortlake. We are at 73 Lower Richmond Road Mortlake SW14 with parking nearby. Roughly: Richmond and Kew under ten minutes, Barnes and East Sheen five to ten, Putney and Hammersmith fifteen to twenty, Fulham around twenty, and central London about forty on the District line via Richmond.
That's more manageable than I thought. Anything else to plan for?
Book the first or last appointment of the day so you are not travelling at peak times, and tell us where you are coming from when you book so we can allow for it. Fittings are long appointments and refits are much shorter, so once you are set up the ongoing trips are easier than the first one. Book a consultation and we will map out the refit schedule with your travel in mind.
