Thinning, not bald

A full hair system is designed for areas with little or no hair. If you are thinning, so you can see scalp through the crown or the top but still have plenty of your own hair, a full system means shaving hair you would rather keep. Hair integration is the alternative.

With integration your own hair stays. Extra hair is added around and through it to build density, and the two are blended so the result reads as one head of hair.

How integration works

Integration uses a fine mesh with added hair attached. Your own hair is gently pulled through the mesh and blended with the added hair, so the mesh sits hidden against the scalp and your natural hair and the added hair move together.

At Hector's this sits alongside our micro weaving and laser weaving techniques, which add hair to thinning areas while working with the hair you already have. We recommend an approach after seeing how much hair you have and where.

Who it suits

Integration suits men with diffuse thinning, spread across the top or crown, who still have reasonable length and coverage. It is also a good first step for men who are not ready for a full system.

If an area moves from thinning to bald, the conversation turns to a hair system, and we can plan that transition when it makes sense.

Maintenance

Because your own hair grows through the mesh, integration needs regular maintenance so it can be repositioned and re-blended as your hair grows. We set the schedule at consultation, based on how fast your hair grows and the method used.

Questions

Is hair integration the same as a hair system? No. A system replaces hair in an area that has little left; integration adds density to hair you still have.

Will I need to shave? Usually not. Keeping your own hair is the point.

Can I move to a system later? Yes. Many men move from integration to a system as their hair thins further.
