How long do Great Lengths extensions last?

Great Lengths pre-bonded extensions typically last three to five months before removal or refit. Pre-Bonded Mini lasts around two to three months, and GL Tapes are refitted every four to eight weeks. How long yours last depends on your hair growth, your aftercare and keeping to your refit schedule.
Hi! Thinking about Great Lengths. How long do they actually last before I need to come back?
It depends which Great Lengths method you choose. Classic Pre-Bonded strands last three to five months. Pre-Bonded Mini, which uses smaller bonds for fine hair, lasts around two to three months. GL Tapes are refitted every four to eight weeks.
Why is there such a big range?
Mostly your own hair growth. As your hair grows, the bonds move away from the scalp. Fast growers reach the refit point sooner. Aftercare matters too: brushing from the ends up, keeping conditioner off the bonds and drying the roots fully all help them stay neat for longer.
I've seen other salons say up to six months?
Great Lengths' own figure for Pre-Bonded is three to five months, so that is what we tell clients. Leaving bonds in past the point they should come out is when they start to matt at the root, which is when damage happens.
What happens at the end — do I buy all new hair?
For pre-bonded, the strands are removed and a new set is fitted. Tapes are different: Great Lengths says each tape can be reused up to three times, so a tape refit moves the same hair back up to the root.
